Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree Where are you?

Please don't call me a scrooge. This year is the first year EVER that I have not put up a Christmas Tree.  I do have a few decoration out, but not many.  Maybe if I explain you will understand.  Remember this post? When we were heading to Michigan to await Jack's arrival we took along with us ALL of our Christmas presents (yes, I'm an early shopper). We knew then that we would be back for the entire week of Christmas. Ashley and Bryan did not want to travel back home for the holidays. Who could blame them? 7 1/2 hours is a LONG drive with a 3 year old and a 1 month old.  I am so glad that they decided to stay home.  I love the fact that Layla gets to wake up Christmas morning in her own bed and run down the hall to see what Santa left under the tree. I love the fact that Ashley and Bryan are letting us share in the excitement. And I LOVE the fact that we are all staying in our PJ's all day long!

So I'm sure your still wondering why not put up a tree? Well first of all, I usually do not put up a tree until the first of December.  All our presents are in Michigan, so there are no presents to put under the tree. Which makes for a naked tree. By week two of our tree being up, we always tend to forget to turn the lights on. But make sure they are on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Then there is the fact that the Christmas tree is set up in the front part of our house and not the part where we can actually sit and enjoy it each evening.  Our living room really does not have a space where we can put it without it being in the way. There will be no one here to enjoy it, everyone will be in Michigan or New York. Then there is also the fact that I take the tree down the day after Christmas. By then, I'm ready for "normal".  So there you have it, why I am not putting up a tree this year. I'm not a scrooge, really I'm not. I will be right where I want to be for the Holidays.  In Michigan with my whole family (minus Brock and Jessie) sitting under THEIR Christmas tree.
