He's here! He's here!

I know it's Thanksgiving week.  But I just HAD to share the exciting news and show lots of pictures.

He's HERE!!!!!

Jack came into this world on November 20th at
7:44 a.m.  weighing a whopping 9 lbs and 19 3/4"long.

Here is the story of Jack's birth (grandma's view):

The eve before Jack's arrival we had a little mini celebration, Grandma and Layla style. What fun we had.  As always, with Layla, we have dance parties.  Now these dance parties consist of running around a couch in circles dancing to Carly Rae Jespen's  "Call Me Maybe".  I believe we had some Queen in there also. Now these "dance parties" take place in the evening, under darkened rooms with glow sticks waiving in the air.  If you have children/grandchildren, these dance parties are actually the best workout routine EVER!!  No gym needed. Heck you don't even need any of that fancy workout machinery.  Just grab some of your favorite music (or theirs), wrap a few glow sticks around your wrists (optional) and run around in circles chasing each other.  The kids think its a blast AND you will be the best parents/grandparents in the world. Plus burn a few of those cookie calories.**wink**wink.

Daddy and Mommy left to go to the hospital at
5:26 a.m. on November 20th.  I'm pretty sure neither one slept much the night before ;)  I know I didn't.

(My intention was to go back to bed after the above picture.  Nope, wasn't going to happen.) Grandpa and Grandma waited at home with big sister Layla (who was still sleeping), in anticipation of the call.

We got the call around 8:30 a.m.  Jack has arrived!!!! Mommy and baby doing fine :)  Although we were still pretty exhausted from having our "dance party" the evening before, we could not wait to get up to the hospital!!

Layla FINALLY woke up and she was SO excited that she was a Big Sister! She had the biggest smile I have ever seen on her face.  We didn't want to show her any pictures yet.  We wanted Mommy and Daddy to see her first reaction to seeing Jack.

Around 12:30 we got the call that it was time for Layla to meet her little brother. The anticipation was just killing me.  I also could not wait to get up there and tried to keep myself busy doing things like playing with play dough, trains and doing a few loads of laundry ;)

It was worth the wait! He is not only perfect, but isn't he just the cutest thing in the whole wide world?

I am a firm believer that a baby is a true miracle from God. Just take one look at a baby, any baby.......a true blue miracle.

Layla said it was okay if I held Jack.  She even let me kiss him!!!

Now we can not end the story here.  Oh heavens no.  You see, I worked my tail off before we made the 7 1/2 hour journey to await the arrival of Jack.  Jack could not come into this world without his own special set of cookies.

Ashley (who has a bug phobia......seriously, she cries at the site of a fly!) decided to decorate Jack's room with a...................wait for it...................BUG theme!!!

I had her hubby send me a few pictures of the creepy crawlers that she had framed to his wall and made Jack his very first set of cookies.

Well I couldn't just give Jack cookies.  Here is Layla's very own cookie, made especially for her.

I didn't want Mommy and Daddy all up in my face, so I made a special set for them also.

What an exciting journey this has been.  There is nothing more special than a child/grandchild.  Keeping my fingers crossed for many more...........grandchildren that is, you silly goose :)

With this being Thanksgiving week, I want to end this post with what I am most thankful for this year:

God blessing me with 2 beautiful grandchildren.

God blessing me with the most amazing family.

God blessing me with supportive friends.

The blessing of having new cookie friends (whom I have never met) that just "get" me and my addiction.

aaaaaaaaand

YOU for visiting my blog and putting up with my nonsense and horrible photography!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
